Stumpt LLC is owned and run by Jake Carruthers, an operator with a resume most people wouldn’t believe. Having grown up on a farm and now starting this company in his early 40s, he has over three decades of equipment and operations experience. Seven years as a custom harvest operator, chasing wheat on the golden plains of the Wheat Belt from Texas to Canada to the tune of hundreds of thousands of acres. Pipeline and right of way construction and maintenance in the Appalachians. Raising crops in a half-dozen or so counties surrounding home. Two years as an equipment operator in Antarctica, including over 4100 miles and three months of work to deliver a half million gallons of fuel across the continent to the South Pole itself. If it moves dirt, mulches brush, brings in a crop, or traverses the world’s seventh and most remote continent, Jake has probably done it.

After this lifetime of experience in the seat of someone else’s equipment, Jake brought that range of operator experience home, back to the family farm in Patoka, and put it to work. Not only for landowners in this part of the country, but also for landowners of the entire country. Stumpt LLC is proud to announce fresh registration with the Forest Service and State Natural Resource Departments to assist with wildfire mitigation and suppression and vegetation management when called upon.
