Is brush clearing the same as bush hogging?

No. A bush hog cuts grass and soft saplings under 2 inches on flat ground. We run a forestry mulcher that grinds woody brush, small trees, and root crowns into mulch. Different machine, different job, different finish.

Will the brush grow back?

Some will. Seed banks for multiflora rose, honeysuckle, and autumn olive stay viable in the soil for years. That's why most customers put us on an annual or every-other-year maintenance cycle. After 2–3 cycles the seed bank is depleted and it stays clear.

All of them. Multiflora rose, bush honeysuckle, autumn olive, privet, locust saplings, briars, greenbriar, poison ivy, grapevine, buckthorn, Japanese bush honeysuckle — if it grows woody and spreads, we grind it.

Can you clear right up to a fence?

Yes. We work up to wire, posts, and culverts without damaging them. Tell us what's in the line before we show up — cross fencing, old barbed wire, electric — so we know what to expect.

Yes, as long as the ground supports the machine. We stay off saturated ground to protect the topsoil — we'd rather reschedule than leave ruts.

Yes. Small jobs are priced per project since the fixed cost is mobilizing the machine. We can often bundle small jobs with a neighbor's job to share the trip.

Can I just keep doing it myself with a bush hog?

On light grass and soft saplings, yes. On real woody brush that's been growing for 5+ years, a bush hog isn't going to get you there — you'll be at it every two weeks and it still won't be clean. One mulcher pass resets the property, and then maintenance stays easy.
